What does it mean to be human? It means being created in the image of God, and to have a soul. It means to be able think and infer, and to be able to love with soul-like qualities. We see these examples straight from text, and evidence, for example Genesis 1:26 says "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
